Be the best you can be
At Sparrow Farm Juniors we have achieved Bronze as well as the Silver Status as an Eco School and we are now working towards the Gold Status. We have two eco-monitors from each of the classes from Year 3 to Year 6, whose role is to foster understanding and actions to encourage everyone to be aware of the environment and make the best use of the earth's resources. In addition to the above, the Eco-Team also ensures that the children are using the School Grounds and Outdoor Resources sensibly and safely. We recycle every day, in each classroom we have separate paper and general waste bins. As part of our conservation drive, our eco-monitors encourage everyone at school to turn off lights, turn off machines to avoid keeping them in 'stand-by mode' and keep doors closed to retain the heat in autumn and winter. The eco-monitors meet at least twice each term to discuss campaigns and activities.
Our eco monitors are:
Year 3: Inesa, Rashid, Evie, Lucas, Luca, Nicola
Year 4: Osni, Alison, Fahim, Maria, Tyler, Nehir
Year 5: Umayr, Kaci, Jack, Shannon Mundy
Year 6: Yesha, Bartek, Liana, Mackenzie
