LATEST NEWS:

Thank you to those that bought books from the Book Fair in March, you helped to raise £210 worth of free books for the school!

Help us win £5,000 of National Book Tokens for the school library - and get £100 for yourself! Just enter the competition online, it only takes a minute: http://www.nationalbooktokens.com/schools

Our Librarian Mrs White runs a Chatterbooks club in the library every Tuesday after school with small groups of pupils.

We run family reading sessions after school on a Monday (for families of pupils of our school) until 4.15pm. Please feel free to come and visit us then and read some books with your child.

Pupils have a weekly library slot when they visit the Library and change their books. They can also spend some time in there, reading the different texts available: newspapers and magazines as well as over 2000 books! There are also audio books and DVDs available.

We have just introduced (Jan 2016) the roll of honours board, where those pupils who have gained their Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum reading award will be publicly named and celebrated. Certificates are also given to these pupils, as well as badges for gold and platinum readers. Pupils gain an award for every 15 books they read.

There are a wide variety of reading challenges we also encourage pupils to enter throughout the year. Some of them are based within our own library, eg: The Safari, Alphabet and Colour challenges and others are nationwide run competitions. One of our pupils recently won first prize in the Star Wars Sith creation competition- well done Catherine!
